High quality core drill bits by DiamondSure. Fit standard drill chucks; for materials such as glass, porcelain tile, ceramic tile, stone, or ceramics.
Drilling glass is easy if you keep the following in mind:
- Use constant water lubrication (use a pan or a clay dam).
- Keep drill RPM low. Approximately 375 RPM is recommended for 1 1/2” hole in glass.
- Use minimal pressure. Allow the bit to do the work and back off frequently to allow plenty of lubrication.
- The bit should never get more than warm to the touch. If it’s hot, that means you’re using too much pressure, too high an RPM or the lubrication is inadequate.
- Start drilling at an angle and slowly move to vertical drilling as the bit starts to cut to prevent the bit from slipping off center.
- Wear safety glasses.
