Lidded Boxes Fusing Molds

Create lidded, glass boxes in your kiln! Each design includes two parts: a mold for the base and a mold for the lid.  These molds can be filled with any size frit, broken billets, or sheet glass. Even glass scraps and tailings yield wonderful results. Embellish the boxes with blossoms and leaves; embed dichroic glass or frit; attach rods, noodles, or stringers; or just leave them plain.

Large Lidded Round Box

Mold dimensions: 8 x 3 in.

Casting dimensions: 5.5 x 2 in.

The Large Round Box is almost double the size of the other box designs. Like the smaller boxes, the mold can be filled with frit, billets, or sheet glass. Create special pieces by lining the mold with collage glass, or by embellishing the lids with frit balls, decals, or other castings. The two molds measure 8 x 3 and 7 x 1.5 inches (20 x 7.5 and 17.5 x 4 cm). Finished pieces are 5.5 x 2 inches (14 x 5 cm). The fill weight of the base is 800 grams. The lid; 300 grams.
