Duraboard
This woven ceramic fiber board is an excellent alternative to ceramic kiln shelves for a fusing surface. Since Duraboard will not retain heat as long as ceramic kiln shelves will, firing schedules may be slightly shortened. This material cuts easily with a utility knife and can be used for multiple firings as a kiln shelf, drop-out ring or dam material for your kilnformed glass. The binders in this material must be burned out initially by following the included instructions.
