Melt at 2225 deg F (1218 deg C) in 25 lb charges. Once the surface levels, charge again. Soak at 2100–2220 deg F (1144–1204 deg C) for 2+ hours, then ramp down to your working temperature. Common working temperatures are 2075–2125 deg F (1135–1163 deg C). "Squeezing" 50–100 degrees below working temp may help achieve a seed-free melt.
Note: Furnace type and size affect procedure. Many blowers charge and soak at lower temperatures with longer turnover times.
